Welcome to the Kauai Country Inn! We are located on 2 acres of beautiful farm land in an area called Wailua, just 4 miles inland from Kapaa town on Kauai's East Shore. A working farm with a small all organic fruit orchard of mangoes, bananas, starfruit, oranges, grapefruit, lychee, wild guava & passion fruit, and avocado; we also grow orchids and other flowers used for lei making. Our flowers are primarily grown to craft leis, haku leis, and bouquets for our wedding business, and guests to the Inn are welcome to pick as much organic fruit in season as they can eat.*

The main house consists of four private, executive style suites all of which are beautifully furnished in Hawaiian style decor, all with private bathroom and full kitchen or kitchenette. We also now offer a brand new family accommodation, the "Country Cottage" to better serve families with younger children. Each of our tropical hideaways is fully equipped with most regular amenities but also features a TV with DVD player, and a computer with high speed DSL internet access so you can stay in touch while away from home. The Inn also features the only private Beatles Museum in the Hawaiian Islands, and tours are given Mondays and Fridays (sorry, guests only!).

There is a hot tub in the back garden, which all guests are welcome to use, and the Kauai Country Inn also has free guest laundry facilities. Guests are encouraged to explore the two acre property and pick fresh organic fruit from our trees when in season.
The Kauai Country Inn has several ties to the Movie Industry. It has been featured in a Czechoslovakian movie about the Hawaiian Islands, and its owners, Mike & Martina Hough owned an Advertising Agency working in Hollywood for 17 years with all the major studios on TV and movie releases. They worked on Hercules, Xena, Star Trek, Simpsons, Nine Months, Braveheart, and many other releases. Also featured in the Inn, is the only private Beatles Museum in the Hawaiian Islands, with an extensive 40 year collection of Beatles items from England, Germany and America, including a Mini Cooper "S" car registered by Brian Epstein, the Beatles manager; an original John Lennon ‘Bag-One' drawing, and many other interesting items.

Your Hosts, Mike and Martina Hough, are both graphic designers, professional photographers, and wedding officiants, who moved to the islands from California, looking for a slower pace of life. The Houghs, who still run a small advertising agency on Kauai, enjoy their Hawaiian lifestyle, being actively involved in the local community, coaching soccer, and dancing Hula. They live on their two acre property in Wailua with their 17 year old son Johannes, and their Golden Retriever Annie. Picture
English and German are spoken.
